Hollow Fiber Membranes for Gas and Vapor Separation
Manufacturing processes across numerous industries require cost efficient separation of gases and vapors. PEEK-SEP™ hollow fiber membranes separate gases and vapors by the principle of selective permeation. Selectively permeable PEEK-SEP™ membranes with ultra-thin separation layers are tailored towards specific applications. PEEK-SEP™ hollow fiber membranes can operate at high temperature in aggressive environments without expensive pretreatments and can meet the most challenging separation needs encountered in industries including:
|
Oil & Gas
Pollution abatement
Energy & Power Production |
Refinery
Petroleum & Hydrocarbon Processing
Chemical processing |
Natural Gas Purification
PEEK-SEP™ hollow fiber membranes remove heavy hydrocarbons (C3+), acid gases, and water vapors from raw natural gas to improve gas quality. The applications include fuel gas conditioning, recovery of natural gas liquids (NGL), nitrogen removal and natural gas dehydration.
Vapor Phase Separations and Removal of VOC’s from Process Streams
PEEK-SEP™ hollow fiber membranes are designed to efficiently remove volatile organic compounds, VOC’s, from air or industrial gas streams. The applications include gasoline and solvent recovery from vent streams. The PEEK-SEP™ filters are most efficient as bulk purification systems and can be combined with conventional abatement technologies for cost efficient integrated solutions.
Vapor phase dehydration
PEEK-SEP™ hollow fiber membranes can be used for vapor phase dehydration processes. PEEK-SEP™ membranes allow for highly selective and cost efficient separation of water vapors from numerous gas streams and vapor mixtures. These separations are enabled by the exceptional chemical and thermal durability of PEEK membranes. PoroGen is currently developing several large scale dehydration applications including fuel grade ethanol production and organic chemical dehydration.
Gas separation/filtration applications
PEEK-SEP™ hollow fiber membranes can be used for specialty gas separation applications and high temperature gas filtration processes. The applications include filtration of steam, oxygen enrichment from air and hydrogen recovery.
